The North London side made just two first-team signings during the winter window, despite being in the middle of an injury crisis under manager Thomas Frank.

January moves involved Conor Gallagher and Brazilian left-back Souza arriving at the club, with fans frustrated at the club’s lack of investment in a side who are 14th in the Premier League table.

Speaking this week, Lange has defended the club’s transfer policies and revealed that the club did not make more signings as it was not a “possibility”.

“When we go into January, we didn't anticipate that we'll have seven injuries during the month of January. So, that of course changes things during the course of the window,” he said in a club interview.

“It is important as a club to remain disciplined and make sure to do our best (with) our ability only to sign players that can generally help the team now or in the future.

“Could we have brought one or two more in this January window? We would have been delighted to do so, but that was not a possibility.

“So, we are looking forward to the summer. Now we focus on the rest of the season, and that is very, very important as well because we have big objectives.”

Tottenham have the likes of Mohammed Kudus, Rodrigo Bentancur, Lucas Bergvall, Richarlison and Pedro Porro out injured. Frank must find a way to work with his injury-ridden squad for the rest of the season as pressure builds on the Danish manager.

Spurs travel to in-form Manchester United on Saturday as they aim to pick up their first league victory in 2026 and climb up to 13th.
