Medvedev is eyeing the Brisbane title

10:22 CET - Alexander Bublik just cannot stop winning titles! The Kazakh has claimed a 7-6(3), 6-2 win over Lorenzo Musetti in Hong Kong, capturing his first crown of 2026 and his fifth in just the last seven months.

Something seems to have clicked with the enigmatic talent, who is now displaying greater consistency in his game. As a result, he is set to make his top-10 debut in the ATP rankings tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Musetti's quest for a first title since 2022 continues, but he does still move into the top five in the world for the first time. A consolation prize.

09:50 CET - My word, what a truly astonishing performance from Belinda Bencic, and what a week she is having!

The star of the United Cup, Bencic produced a mighty display to win 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 against Iga Swiatek, stunning the world number two to give Switzerland a 1-0 lead against Poland in the final.

After losing the first set, Bencic found a staggering level from the back of the court, as Swiatek could only win three of the next 15 games. The Swiss star has played nine matches all week and won all nine, and will now move into the top 10 in the world rankings.

Next up, three-time Grand Slam champion Stanislas Wawrinka, who is retiring this year, has a chance to clinch the crown for Switzerland, as he comes up against Hubert Hurkacz.

08:30 CET - Aryna Sabalenka is the Brisbane champion once more! The Belarusian has been imperious all week, culminating in a superb performance against Marta Kostyuk in the final, winning 6-4, 6-3 to defend her crown and make an early statement ahead of the Australian Open.

The world number one looks immense to start the season, and after winning her 22nd title, can anyone hurt her in Melbourne?

08:00 CET - Good morning and welcome back to the Tennis Tracker, on the first finals day of the 2026 season!

There has already been one champion over in Auckland, with top seed Elina Svitolina getting her hands on the trophy with a 6-3, 7-6(8) victory over Xinyu Wang.

It is the 19th title of a fine career for the Ukrainian, and only three players active on tour have more than her.

Currently on court in Brisbane are world number one Aryna Sabalenka and Marta Kostyuk. Both players have been in stellar form this week, but only one can reign victorious.

That will be followed by the men's final between Daniil Medvedev and Brandon Nakashima, with the former looking to hit top form ahead of the Australian Open.

A fantastic final is on the cards in Hong Kong, as the top two seeds, Lorenzo Musetti and Alexander Bublik, prepare to face off at 08:30 CET.

Finally, the United Cup final sees Poland and Switzerland go head to head, with Iga Swiatek taking on Belinda Bencic in the opening rubber now.
