The 23-year-old Alarcon has signed a loan until the end of the current season, after which FC Utrecht have the option to purcahse 50% of the player's economic rights for a total of €2 million. FC Porto announced that it has the future option to buy back 40% of his rights for €3 million.

Before heading to FC Utrecht, Alarcon extended his contract with FC Porto for another season, now running until June 30, 2028.

Angel Alarcon made six official appearances for FC Porto's first team this season, in addition to nine matches for the reserves, without recording a goal contribution.

The former FC Barcelona youth product joins FC Utrecht in a tumultuous phase, with Ron Jans's side having lost five games in a row. The UEFA Europa League participants are in 11th place in the Eredivisie and are 7 points away from the top 8.

Angel Alarcon is the second January acquisition for FC Utrecht, who brought in Bologna winger Jesper Karlsson on loan earlier in the window.
